Ajax Harwood Clinic is a teaching site for Queen's University's Department of Family Medicine. Family medicine residents — licensed physicians completing their specialty training in family medicine — train at the clinic under the supervision of our attending physicians.
What this means for you: during a visit, you may sometimes be seen by a resident working under the supervision of your family doctor. Your care remains under your physician's direct oversight and is held to the same standards, and you are always welcome to ask to speak with your physician directly.
Being a teaching practice keeps our clinic connected to current medical education and helps train the next generation of family doctors for Durham Region.
Interested in group-based mental health or ear acupuncture sessions? You can ask your physician for a referral to Dr. Yu's Presence Therapy program, or attend a group session directly — no referral required.
