When to Book

Travel consultations are ideally completed 4–6 weeks before departure to allow time for full vaccine schedules and for immunity to develop.

If your departure is sooner, it is still absolutely worthwhile to be assessed — protection, even partial, is better than none, and documentation may still be completed in time.

If your trip is within 2 weeks, please call us directly at 905-683-0690 — we may be able to open an additional slot for urgent travel.

Fees & Coverage

The physician consultation fee may apply. Vaccines and medications are not covered by OHIP but are often covered by private insurance plans. We will review fees with you before your visit.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need travel vaccines before my trip?
This depends on your destination, length of stay, and activities planned. Some vaccines are legally required for entry; others are strongly recommended. A consultation helps determine exactly what you need.
Can I get everything done in one visit?
Yes — for most destinations, the consultation, vaccines, prescriptions, and documentation can all be completed in a single appointment.
Do you provide yellow fever vaccination certificates?
Yes. Ajax Harwood Clinic is a designated Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre. We provide the official ICVP (International Certificate of Vaccination or Prophylaxis) recognized globally.
I'm a new patient — can I still book a travel consultation?
Yes. Travel clinic visits are open to both existing patients and anyone new to the clinic. Just book a time that works for you — we'll ask for the information we need after your booking is confirmed.
How does booking work?
Pick a time that works for you and secure your spot with a credit card. Your card is only charged if you attend — the hold prevents no-shows. After booking, you'll receive a short questionnaire by email so we can prepare vaccine recommendations for your destination before your visit.
